CITB SMSTS Site Manager training in Kent and London

I recently completed the SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) course and can honestly say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The course was extremely well-structured, covering all the key areas of health and safety management in a clear and practical way.

The instructor Joe was highly knowledgeable and engaging, using real-world examples that made the content easy to understand and apply on-site. Rather than just focusing on theory, the course encouraged discussion and problem-solving, which really helped reinforce the learning.

The materials provided were comprehensive and up to date with current regulations, giving me confidence that I’m working to the latest industry standards. I also appreciated how the course highlighted not just legal responsibilities, but the importance of creating a positive safety culture.

Overall, I feel far more confident in my role as a site manager, especially when it comes to risk assessment, planning, and ensuring the well-being of everyone on site. I would highly recommend this SMSTS course to anyone looking to strengthen their knowledge and take their health and safety responsibilities seriously.

I recently completed the SMSTS course at Lighthouse. The course was run by Lee Whall – I wanted to mention him personally as he did an absolutely excellent job.

Can honestly say it was the most informative and enjoyable construction/safety course I’ve ever been involved in.

His knowledge of regulation and legislation is top-notch, and I’ve come away feeling so much more confident in relaying this info to colleagues, subbies, etc. on-site and in a professional setting. His knowledge of science/biology etc is impressive and his approach to teaching really simplifies complex subjects and makes them easier to understand.

The training centre was great also. Clean, tidy, easily accessible.

If you’re thinking of booking an SMSTS then I cant speak highly enough of Lee Whall and Lighthouse.

Lee Whall is an exceptional individual with an immense capability of delivering high quality, factual information.

Lee made the course interesting and fun, he also displayed a great command of the classroom (especially when individuals had their own “strong” opinions (not always the right ones)). Lee calmly re-corrected any “strong” incorrect information and continued with us on our learning journey.

A great course throughout, it was fully enjoyed by all and this is testament to Lee, I have personally worked within the training delivery sector for the past 11 years and in my opinion Lee is exceptional!

Really good and well communicated course with an excellent training method, I would definitely look to book additional courses when required.

Training Delivered professionally but not in a boring manner. I have a tendency to lose concentration with heavy subjects but Andy involved the group regularly which kept us on our toes.
