Supporting our community with a game of Wheelchair Rugby

Lighthouse Safety will be joining the England Wheelchair Rugby team for a charity match in aid of Beams.

The England Wheelchair rugby team has been dominating the sport for years, with their impressive record and skilled players. However, for this special match, they have to play alongside a group of amateurs to join them for a match of what is also known as Murder Ball! These seven players, who have little to no experience in the sport, are eager to prove themselves and show their support for a great cause.

The match is set to take place at the state-of-the-art Medway Park, a popular venue for sporting events. The arena will be filled with cheers and excitement as the two teams face off in what promises to be an intense and thrilling game. But this match is about more than just rugby. It is also a fundraiser for Beams Charity, an organisation that provides support and services for disabled children and their families. We have partnered with Beams to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. All proceeds from the match will go towards helping these children and their families live better lives. The seven amateur players led by our very own Stephen Laws,  have been selected from different backgrounds and abilities, will be training rigorously for the past few weeks, learning the rules of the game, honing their skills, and building their teamwork. Despite their lack of experience, they are determined to give their all on the court!

The match is expected to draw a large crowd, with fans of all ages coming to support their team and the charity. It will be a heartwarming and inspiring event, showcasing the power of sports and community to make a positive impact.

So mark your calendars for Sunday, June 9th, and come out to Medway Park to witness this exciting match of  England Wheelchair rugby pros and their rookie teammates.
