Our Training department has an expanding course prospectus to service our current clients’ requirements including NEBOSH General, Construction, Fire & Environmental; CITB SMSTS, SSSTS & Health & Safety Awareness; IOSH Leading, Managing & Working Safely; Qualsafe First Aid Courses; and ProQual Level 6 NVQ in Health & Safety, in addition to our own unique bespoke courses created specifically for clients. We achieve fantastic pass rates and have attained the highest national score for a NEBOSH student.

Our Compliance services department aims to support our clients for them to be able to achieve compliance in all areas of HS&E by writing Policies, RAMS & COSHH Assessments, carrying out Site Inspections, achieving SSiP Accreditations, hosting Toolbox Talks, will act as our clients Safety Manager and provide retained advice. We help our clients become aware of hidden dangers, so the Lighthouse brand signifies what we do best, looking out for the safety for our clients and those around them.

JOB SPECIFICATION

We are specifically looking for an experienced Trainer/Instructor to deliver our Health and Safety courses. In this instance the portfolio consists of CITB: Site Safety Plus Courses, IOSH, Qualsafe (including First Aid) and bespoke courses with the addition of assisting with compliance visits and associated paperwork.

JOB DUTIES

Applicants for this role will be highly engaging individuals who have a passion for health and safety. You will be a professional and confident communicator with the ability to deliver training to a broad range of individuals.

Successful applicants will be required to work from our training facility in Rainham Kent, delivering courses and carry out compliance services across the Southeast and London predominantly but not exclusively in the construction sector.

Essential Skills

• Has significant experience in the delivery of HS&E training
• Has knowledge of, or experience of working in, the construction industry/a construction related environment
• Has excellent communication skills, with the interpersonal skills to interact and influence at all levels, be passionate about developing people and be driven to achieve success
• Assist the Training & General Manager as required
• Be able to work well as part of a team and independently
• Increase the levels of proficiency through effective training and communication
• Visit sites to conduct field safety observations and perform routine examinations of all work areas to promote safe working practices and conditions
• IT Proficient (predominantly with Microsoft Office)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
• PTLLS / EATS (preferable but not essential)
• Membership with IOSH
• Construction experience
• Construction management experience
• Delivery of training experience
