House Builder fined £10,000

A house builder has been fined £10,000 after pleading guilty of breaching Health and Safety regulations when a plasterer fell from height leading to multiple injuries due to a temporary timber handrail failing.

The operative fell 2.6metres breaking and fracturing several bones in her face, wrist and arm. It is unlikely she will ever return to her main trade of work. This simple oversight in correct procedures has lead to a lifelong impact on this individual.
