Free online Covid-19 e-course launched by CITB

CITB are offering a free e-course titled Covid-19: Setting up and operating a safe construction site

Figures from the Office for National Statistics revealed last year, showed that men working in occupations including construction had the highest Covid-19 death rate of all categories of employment.

The course has been designed to strengthen ongoing pandemic preparedness, so that managers and supervisors can deliver toolbox talks to their teams.

The eCourse covers the following topics in 4 modules.

1.Course Introduction

    • Hazards and risks of infectious diseases
    • Legislation and guidance
    • Distancing

2.    General site measures

    • Planning
    • Travelling to and from site
    • Site access and Egress
    • Site Facilities and Cleaning
    • Driving on site
    • Distancing (additional mitigation measures)
    • Emergency Procedures

3.    Outside the site gates

    • Self Isolation
    • Protecting the wider community

4.    Conclusion and end of course knowledge check

    • Summary
    • Course Exam

The standard was based on the CLC’s Site Operating Procedures with guidance from employers and was developed into an e-course.
