The HS(G) 195 Guidance ‘A Guide to health, safety and welfare and similar events’ has been undergoing revision since May last year by the HSE and local authorities.
Some areas of the guidance are already out of date due to the changing legislation and policy. For example their is conflict in the guidance with the Age discrimination Act (2006) as the guidance states that people working for the ambulance services should not be over 65 years old.
In order to promote feedback from the industry, previous drafts of the chapters will be published. Further consultations will be held later in the year, due to the diverse industries that the guide affects. Further details can be found at http://www.hse.gov.uk/entertainment/issues.htm
