Dust with death

Face mask quickly become a main thing that I look at on site these days, with figures of around 9000 dust related deaths a year,  it seems only common sense that you would protect yourselves from dust exposure, what ever dust this may be e.g. silica from stone wood dust and very importantly, asbestos.

You need to be protecting yourselves and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions. So look at what you do or what happens as a result of your work dust from drilling or cutting.

I find a lot of people with FFP 1 and 2 masks which are not sufficient for construction exposures. You need to be wearing FFP3 as a minimum.

Ofcourse having an FFP3 mask is great providing you’re wearing it and it’s not sitting at the bottom of the tool box or 30m from where you’re cutting.
