Communication doesn’t always come in the form of a document and a signature is not key to fulfilling your duty, but ensuring that the information has been communicated, received and understood is!
For example here at Lighthouse Safety Training, we teach courses day in day out and if there were ever to be a fire (we all hope not) but if there was, all candidates would evacuate in the correct manner and meet at the assembly point. I would also put money on the fact that if you asked any of our previous candidates they would be able to do the same. This is because at the start of each course we ensure this information is given and understood.
Communication has worked and not one person signs a form to say that we have given them an induction because we are happy that everyone knows.
