All this week Lighthouse Safety have been providing a bespoke Behavioural Safety Course for one of our many clients. The training took place in central London for four days, teaching over 60 candidates.
A few months back, our client challenged Lighthouse Safety with delivering a Behaviour based course that was tailored to suit their needs but also to be based on a registered CITB course. The course itself was designed and executed by our Training Director – Harry Collins CMIOSH. The course was aimed at challenging why construction workers make unsafe decisions and also challenge how we think about health and safety. He tried to change the mind set of staff at Sol Data.
The courses that we delivered were delivered with great response with some students giving the feedback listed below:
“Harry got all the points across in a very clear and helpful way, it was easy to talk about our own thoughts of Health & Safety.”
“I enjoyed the course, it was real eye opener.”
“Harry was very good. I have been on many H&S courses throughout my career and this was one of the best with regards to enjoyment, content and easy to learn.”
The course was constructed of not only just site based situations and decisions, but of office based and even home based behaviour situations. We also used videos and group based discussions to encourage working together.
Over the next few months Lighthouse will be working with our client to monitor the impact of the training completed, to assess the impact of changing behaviour. We are also developing a two day senior management bespoke course to deliver in August and a future ABC again for the site based staff.
Now this has been a tried and tested course we are now aiming to deliver this for clients that are looking to change the culture of their company and help meet H&S targets along the way. It has been enjoyable to deliver and has had a real impact to our client; it could do for you too.
