An eight-year-old boy has died after his bicycle was involved in a collision with a mobile crane in Aberdeen.

Kyle Allan, of Northfield, died in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the accident on Aberdeen’s Great Northern Road yesterday evening.

A police spokesperson, appealing for witnesses, earlier confirmed: “An eight-year-old boy was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He sadly succumbed to his injuries.”

The crane was returning to the depot of Ainscough subsidiary James Jack Lifting Services at the time of the tragedy.
