Career Transition Partnership

We are extremely proud to be able to announce that we have recently become a ‘Preferred Supplier’ to the MOD’s Career Transition Partnership Programme (CTP) for Service Leavers. ‘Lighthouse’ views this as an exciting opportunity and we now look forward to working with the CTP and Service Leavers to deliver training courses to assist individual resettlement plans. Leaving a secure working environment like the Navy, Army or the RAF on the road to becoming a civilian can be daunting and a worry, we will endeavour to assist in this process to ease any concerns the Service Leaver may have.

If any prospective employers would like to meet any of these individuals as they filter through on our courses please do not hesitate to contact us as we would be happy to make any introductions necessary. Employers should try not to miss an opportunity to employ a well trained, self disciplined Ex HM Forces employee.

Lighthouse Safety Training Ltd achieve Driver CPC accreditation via JAUPT and DSA

We are proud to announce that on Friday 14 May 2010, Lighthouse Safety Training has become an approved training centre to teach Driver CPC periodic training via JAUPT (Joint Approvals unit for Periodic Training) and DSA (Drivers Standard Agency).

Driver CPC is a requirement for every commercial HGV/LGV driver to undertake and continue to do so every 5 years. Training courses can be broken down into 7 hour durations, ie 5 courses required in total.

We will from 1 June 2010 offer the following 5 courses:

1. Drivers Hours and Tachograph Rules

2. Vehicle defect reporting and SAFED Theory

3. Health & Safety and First Aid

4. Safe Loading and Customer Care

5. Contract of Carriage and the Transport Industry

‘Lighthouse’ achieve SSIP status via the SMAS WorkSafe Consultant route

We are very proud to announce that we are now a Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) approved H&S registered Consultancy. We achieved SMAS WorkSafe Consultant status on the 11 March 2010 via SMAS Ltd.

Lighthouse Safety Training Ltd pass there accreditation ISO 9001:2008 inspection

SGS visited our offices on 26 Feb 2010 to conduct an accreditation inspection. As a result we are very pleased to announce we are now a UKAS 9001:2008 registered company. Our certification is available for inspection at any time.

We now in a period of evidence gathering and expect to gain ISO 9001:2008 UKAS accreditation in February 2010. We have worked with Helen Bray who has assisted and guided us through this process, and hence we fully envisage gaining our UKAS registration via SGS on their first accreditation visit.

Lighthouse Safety Products Ltd

We have recently formed Lighthouse Safety Products Ltd, aiming to bring a selection of safety related products to the market place. We are in the final stages of negotiations with a worldwide safety equipment manufacturer and fully expect to be able to release a news bulletin shortly making this a formal announcement.
