Vibration- Hard to shake off?

The Control of Vibration Regulations have been around now for 6 years and employers are still failing to acknowledge the dangers.

Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) is the result of over exposure to vibration involved with handheld tools. The disease kills nerve endings in the fingers and leaves the affected person with a permanent disability, including numbness and pains which can lead to disfigurement.  One sufferer described his hands as “dead lumps of meat on the end of my arms”.

Most patients of this disease struggle with day-to-day tasks such as fastening buttons, feeding themselves, and even holding their children.  See the video showing how such a simple disease can affect a household.

Please don’t let this happen.  Act now and ask for advice of how to prevent exposure.
