Driver CPC Day 3- Health & Safety
What is Driver CPC?
The Driver CPC is a scheme for LGV and PSV drivers who drive professionally in the UK. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the EU Directive 2003/59, which is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional LGV and PSV drivers throughout their working life. All drivers, new and existing, will then have to undertake 35 hours of training every five years to ensure that their Driver CPC is current. This is known as Periodic Training.
Course Description
This day is aimed at teaching the driver the principles of first aid, combined with a good understanding of health and safety around vehicles and the work place.
Who Should Attend
Driver CPC is designed for all commercial drivers, holding a category C, C1, C+E or C1+E licence before 10 September 2009
Course Content
During the morning candidates will cover the health and safety at work act 1974. Hazards in and around goods vehicles, ergonomics of the drivers’ cab, postures of a driver, and relevant PPE. Also covered are the accidents in the transport sector and their causes, plus personnel health.
Assessment & Award
During the daily courses, to measure performance and teaching, the candidates will take a course quiz. There is no requirement to pass or to achieve a certain level. The only requirement is to complete 35 hours training.
At the end of the course the candidate will be presented with a certificate of attendance from Lighthouse Safety Training. Once all 35 hours has been achieved the driver qualification card will automatically sent out by the Driving Standards Agency.
Duration
This is one of 5 individual days that can be completed; each day consists of 7 hours of instruction. Each day will start at 8.30 am – 5 pm.
Cost
Individual days training are offered starting at £65 + VAT; this can vary for in-house courses (dependant on location and numbers etc).
Venue
We run open Driver CPC courses regularly in our Training Centre in Rainham, Kent. We are happy to travel to your location if suitable facilities area available.
A Polite Notice
It pays to be selective when booking training courses because not all training providers are what they appear to be. When booking a Drivers CPC Course you need to feel assured that your training provider is fully accredited to provide that training and is not then going to sub-contract the work. Lighthouse Safety Training are fully accredited by JAUPT to provide the Drivers CPC and proof of that accreditation can be seen at our accreditation page.
